Types of SAE Projects
Foundational: This project is conducted in an agriculture class and is meant to help students explore their interests so that they can better decide which course pathway and immersive SAE projects they will participate in.
Research: This project involves designing and conducting a scientific experiment having to do with agriculture. Members can enter their research and results in the FFA Agriscience Fair to win national recognition, prizes and scholarships.
Placement: This project involves locating an internship or volunteer position within the member's chosen pathway. This can be a paid or unpaid position.
Entrepreneurship: This project involves investing time and money into an agricultural business venture. Traditional breeding and market animal projects fall under this category, as well as agricultural mechanics projects. Members can form a business around an agricultural service or product.
SAE Project Exhibition (Livestock Shows)
If a student has an eligible project that they would like to show at a BISD approved livestock show, they must register with an FFA advisor at the annual entry meeting. At the meeting, a parent will need to be present to sign paperwork, all animal or project information must be presented (ear tag numbers, tattoo numbers, registration papers, etc.), FFA dues must be paid in full, and all entry fees must be paid in full before exiting the meeting. If any of the items above are incomplete, the project will not be entered. Please check the Brazosport FFA Google Calendar for the date of this meeting each year.
When paying entry fees online, please indicate the Livestock Show for which you are registering, type of projects being entered and amount owed per project. Link for Entry Fees: https://brazosport.revtrak.net/hs/bphs/#/v/FFA-Entry-Fees
